Care Home Worker Vishnu Remadevi Jailed for 11 Years After Campaign of Rape & Coercive Control
Indian national Vishnu Remadevi, 39, has been jailed for 11 and a half years at Mold Crown Court after pleading guilty to rape and coercive behaviour.
Vishnu Remadevi, 39, of Maenan, Old Colwyn, has been jailed for 11 and a half years at Mold Crown Court after pleading guilty to rape, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault, threatening with a bladed article, intentional strangulation, and controlling and coercive behaviour. Remadevi, a care home worker who moved to the UK from India in 2022, faces deportation after serving the custodial portion of his sentence.
The investigation began in November last year when a woman reported a sexual assault at a residential property. It transpired that the person accompanying her for support was also a victim of Remadevi. Arrested on November 7, 2025, Remadevi initially answered "no comment," denied all offences, and claimed the women were colluding, before pleading guilty on the first day of his trial.
Prosecutor Matthew Dunford said Remadevi forced one woman to have sex, strangled her, slapped and kicked her, pointed a knife at her, and tracked her phone. He sexually assaulted and attempted to sexually assault a second woman, whose clothing contained his DNA.
In victim impact statements, the first victim told the court she is rebuilding her life with dignity. The second victim stated the abuse caused deep emotional pain, flashbacks, and guilt.

Defending Remadevi, Kurupath Sreekumar noted his client had no previous convictions, worked night shifts at a care home without complaint, and was called a "model prisoner" by a chaplain, adding that deportation meant he was unlikely to pose a future threat to the UK public.
Judge Timothy Petts told Remadevi, "You are a dangerous offender," calling his behaviour "horrid" and noting it caused severe psychological harm. Remadevi was placed on the sex offenders register, and restraining orders were made to safeguard both victims and a third woman. Detective Constable Catherine Farrington praised the victims' bravery.
