Birmingham Rapist Jailed for 20 Years After Nine Rape Convictions & Two Sexual Assault Offences Against Two Women
A serial sexual predator who denied every allegation was convicted after DNA evidence & detailed victim accounts exposed years of offending across two Birmingham addresses.
Daniel Thomas has been jailed for 20 years after being convicted of rape and sexual assault offences against two women following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
The 49-year-old, from Birmingham, denied the allegations but was found guilty by a jury of nine counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault. The offences related to two separate victims and took place in incidents several years apart.
The court heard Thomas repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted one woman over a number of hours at a flat in Ladywood in 2022. He later carried out a further series of rape and sexual assault offences against a second woman at an address in Edgbaston in 2025.
During the police investigation, Thomas denied committing the offences. He also denied having had any form of sexual contact with one of the women. However, forensic evidence proved significant to the prosecution case, with DNA analysis linking him to one of the victims.

Following his conviction, Thomas was sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment. He will also remain subject to the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Detectives from West Midlands Police’s Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO) team led the investigation.
Sergeant Nicole Brain and Police Constable Erin Kennelly said: “A repeat rapist is now behind bars thanks to the strength of the very women he thought it was acceptable to violate and assault.
“The women were able to help us evidence and document his crimes and support our investigation and our thanks goes to them.

“Their strength and perseverance to see this process through has ensured a rapist is off the streets and now behind bars for a very considerable amount of time.”
Thomas’s convictions followed a trial at Birmingham Crown Court, where jurors found him guilty of multiple rape and sexual assault offences committed against the two women in separate incidents in Ladywood and Edgbaston. His sentence brings the criminal proceedings to a conclusion, with the court also ordering that he remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
