An activist who co-founded the Raise the Colours campaign group is set to stand trial next spring charged with assault by beating following an incident at a seaside anti-immigration demonstration.
Ryan Bridge, 45, of Station Road, Blackwell, Worcestershire, appeared before District Judge (MC) Kelly at Brighton Magistrates' Court on Monday for a short administrative case management hearing.
The 45-year-old had his case formally adjourned to allow full trial preparation and disclosure of evidence to proceed, with District Judge Kelly fixing the trial to commence on 15 March 2027.
Bridge, was released on court bail pending his trial.
The Brighton charge arises from an alleged incident on Queen's Road in Brighton city centre on 13 June during a public demonstration. Prosecutors allege that an assault with battery occurred involving direct physical contact.
The matter was brought back before Courtroom 02 to establish timetable directions, where Bridge maintained his status on bail ahead of the March 2027 proceedings.
In addition to the Brighton prosecution, Bridge is facing a separate 14-count criminal indictment in Oxfordshire following a statutory file submission by Thames Valley Police to the Crown Prosecution Service.
