Slough Driver Jailed for 13 Years After High-Speed Hit & Run Attack on Two Pedestrians

A 22-year-old man who deliberately drove a vehicle into two pedestrians at high speed in Slough has been jailed for more than 13 years following a Thames Valley Police investigation.

Mohammed Din, of Jinnah Place, Slough, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court to 13 years and eight months’ imprisonment after pleading guilty to two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent.

Din originally faced two counts of attempted murder following the incident on 19 February 2025 in Littlebrook Avenue, Slough, where emergency services were called to reports that a vehicle had struck two pedestrians before the driver fled the scene.

Police tracked Din down through a combination of CCTV analysis and forensic evidence recovered from the vehicle involved in the collision, leading to his arrest five days later on 24 February 2025.

He was formally charged on 26 February 2025 with two counts of attempted murder, but subsequently entered guilty pleas to the alternative charges of section 18 grievous bodily harm on the second day of his trial at Reading Crown Court on 21 April.

Following the formal entry of his guilty pleas, the court sentenced Din to his custodial term, bringing the criminal proceedings to a close. 

Commending the assistance of local residents who assisted the inquiry, Detective Sergeant Josh Webber and Detective Constable Laura Bevan said the conviction was made possible through CCTV, forensic evidence, and public support, noting that Din was brought before the courts despite initially fleeing the scene of the severe attack.
