Stalker Jailed for Luring 18 Men to Ex-Girlfriend’s Home for Fabricated 'Rape Fantasy'
A sadistic cyberstalker has been jailed for eight years at Chester Crown Court after weaponising a fraudulent dating profile to target his former partner.
A 36-year-old man who created a fraudulent dating profile to lure at least 18 men to his former partner's home under the pretense of a sexual assault fantasy has been jailed for eight years at Chester Crown Court for stalking involving serious alarm or distress. Asad Hussain, also known as Ash Hussain, of Hankinson Avenue, Heald Green, Cheadle, was sentenced by a circuit judge after also being convicted of assault by beating and failing to comply with a Section 49 Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) notice. The court also imposed a 15-year restraining order to protect the complainant and her family, following a nine-day trial in which Hussain maintained a blanket denial of his actions.
The prosecution outlined a campaign of coercive control and digital harassment that escalated after the complainant terminated a brief relationship with Hussain in May 2024. The defendant had initially introduced himself under the pseudonym 'Mick Renney' after contacting her on social media. The court heard that Hussain demonstrated increasingly controlling behaviour, which culminated in an incident on 6 May 2024 when he confiscated the complainant's mobile telephone, interrogated her regarding her contacts, and assaulted her by forcing his way into a bathroom, causing her to fall. Following the separation, Hussain utilized sophisticated counter-surveillance measures, including dedicated mobile handsets, factory-resetting his personal electronic devices, changing his vehicle registration, and attempting to alter his corporate details on the Companies House registry to evade detection.
The campaign intensified between July and September 2024, during which period numerous men attended the complainant’s address in Northwich. The men had been deceived by a counterfeit Tinder profile erected by Hussain using the victim's identity. The court heard that the defendant instructed these individuals to enter the property uninvited, claiming the complainant wished to engage in a non-consensual sexual fantasy and that any verbal refusal should be disregarded. In one instance, a man damaged a glass panel on the front door after being instructed by the profile that the door was merely stiff. On another occasion, an absolute stranger entered the property while the complainant's teenage daughter was upstairs alone.
An investigation by Cheshire Police’s Harm Reduction Unit tracked Hussain’s movements through closed-circuit television, automatic number plate recognition, and telecommunications data. Detectives established that whenever the fraudulent Tinder profile was active, Hussain had travelled from Cheadle to park in a layby or occupy an industrial unit near the complainant’s home to orchestrate the meetings. Hussain was arrested on the M6 by Cumbria Police officers on 6 October 2024. During police interviews, he claimed his vehicle, an Audi R8 sports car captured on the victim’s video doorbell, was part of an undocumented classic car rental pilot for his plumbing business, and asserted he was working at an unspecified supermarket at the time of the assault.
Following his arrest, Hussain refused to provide passcodes for a seized iPad, falsely claiming it belonged to an anonymous client. This led to a further charge under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000. Speaking after the sentencing, Police Constable Keith Terrill stated that Hussain was an exceptionally controlling and deceitful individual who went to extreme lengths to cause fear. PC Terrill added that the internet offers no sanctuary to those who wish to commit violence against women and girls and domestic abuse. In a statement released through the police, the complainant expressed gratitude for the custodial sentence, noting that Hussain had never shown remorse or accepted responsibility, and stated that the independent advocacy support and police determination gave her the courage to give evidence during the trial.
