County Lines Drug Gang Member Jailed for Eight Years After £20,000 Cash & Hundreds of Class A Drugs Seized
Phone messages detailing drug deals, prices & quantities helped detectives dismantle a Birmingham county lines operation that led to the seizure of more than £20,000 in cash & hundreds of wraps of class A drugs.
A county lines drug gang member who supplied heroin and crack cocaine across Birmingham has been jailed for more than eight years after police seized more than £20,000 in cash and hundreds of wraps of class A drugs.
Haaris Zubair, 20, of Birmingham, was sentenced to eight years and three months’ imprisonment at Warwick Crown Court on 10 June following an investigation by West Midlands Police’s County Lines Taskforce.
The court heard that Zubair played a role in a drugs line responsible for supplying large quantities of heroin and crack cocaine across Birmingham. He was arrested during a targeted police operation last year and was found in possession of thousands of pounds in cash and drugs.
Investigators examined mobile phones linked to the operation and uncovered messages relating to drug deals, including discussions about quantities and prices involving members of the drugs line.

Following further enquiries, officers executed warrants at two addresses in Birmingham. Searches uncovered more than £7,000 in cash and nearly 500 wraps of class A drugs.
In total, officers recovered more than £20,000 in cash from addresses linked to the drugs operation and seized hundreds of wraps of drugs intended for supply.
Following the sentence, West Midlands Police said the investigation had disrupted the drugs line and formed part of ongoing efforts to target organised drug networks operating in the region.
The force said: “County Lines gangs exploit vulnerable people and children to transport and sell drugs across the West Midlands.

“These groups cause untold misery, and our County Lines Taskforce carries out warrants and targeted operations to disrupt criminal gangs and arrest those involved in supplying drugs.”
The case forms part of continuing police action against county lines drug gangs, which use dedicated phone lines to organise the supply of class A drugs and move drugs and money between locations through organised criminal networks.
