Serial Predator Simon Levy Handed Whole Life Order for Rape & Double Murder

Serial predator Simon Levy has been handed a whole life order at the Old Bailey for the sexually motivated murders of two women and the rape of a third, ensuring he will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The 40-year-old was sentenced by Judge Mark Lucraft KC after being convicted of two counts of murder, two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and non-fatal smothering following a six-week trial.

Levy targeted vulnerable women engaged in street sex work across London over an eight-month period in 2025, suffocating 53-year-old Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo in March and 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins in August, following an attack in January where a third victim was raped, choked unconscious, and left for dead.

Prosecutor Tom Little KC submitted to the court that the primary legal threshold for a whole life sentence had been met, arguing that both homicides were inextricably linked with severe sexual offending and demonstrated a pattern of extreme, repeated violence against women.

Mitigating on Levy's behalf, defence barrister Siobhan Grey KC urged the court to resist imposing a whole life order, citing her client's language development disorder and severe visual impairment resulting from a prior assault while in custody.

Delivering his judgment, Judge Lucraft ruled that the severity, premeditation, and predatory nature of Levy's offending required the ultimate sanction available under English criminal law, noting that Levy "ruthlessly exploited" vulnerable women for his own personal satisfaction and harboured a "morbid fascination with sex, rape and crime" evidenced by material saved on his digital devices.

The judge found that the aggravating features of the case "significantly outweigh any mitigating features," highlighting the "strikingly similar" nature of the two murders, before Levy—showing no flicker of emotion in the dock—was taken down to the cells.

In victim impact statements read to the court, the surviving victim described how the assault had stripped her of her dignity and autonomy, while family members of both deceased women detailed the destructive impact of the killings on their lives.

The court heard that Levy committed the offences while subject to police bail and under active investigation for multiple previous sexual offences, prompting formal apologies from the Crown Prosecution Service regarding procedural oversights, including a failure to issue a bench warrant when Levy failed to appear in court shortly before the final murder.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct has launched an investigation into the management of Levy by the Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police, examining the decision-making processes from his first conviction in 2021 through to his arrest in September 2025.
