Birmingham rapper Twista Cheese pleads not guilty to charges over a video aimed at Tommy Robinson, plus drug and public order offences. A Birmingham rapper has appeared in court to plead not guilty to charges relating to an online video he made directed at far-right activist Tommy Robinson. The rapper, known as Twista Cheese, whose real name is Omar Abdirizak, was arrested for allegedly posting the video over the weekend.
Abdirizak has been charged under Section 179 of the Online Safety Act 2023 for conveying false information with the intent to cause non-trivial psychological or physical harm. In the video, it is believed that he made threats and incited unrest, specifically targeting Robinson.
In addition to this charge, Omar also faces allegations of possession of Class B drugs and a racially aggravated public order offence. During his court appearance, he pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted unconditional bail.
The case is set to continue, with further hearings scheduled in the coming months.
