Six Charged in the Murder of Tottenham Father Gregory Castillo Volquez
Homicide detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of father-of-two Gregory Castillo Volquez, 36, in Tottenham have now charged six individuals in connection with his death.
The tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Monday, 13 January 2025, at an address on Tiverton Road, Haringey. Police and paramedics attended the scene, but despite their efforts, Mr. Volquez, a Dominican Republic national, succumbed to his injuries.
Detective Inspector Jim Barry, leading the Metropolitan Police’s investigation, described the killing as “a tragedy that left two children without their father.” He has called on witnesses, particularly anyone with mobile phone footage, to come forward to aid the inquiry.
Timeline of Arrests and Charges
15 January 2025:
Four individuals were charged with Mr. Volquez’s murder:
- Carlos Alfredo Ramirez Tavarez, 27 (24.08.1996), of Tiverton Road, N15
- Edison Dario Canario Perez, 22 (6.6.2001), of Tiverton Road, N15
- Joan Perea, 20 (07.10.2004), of Tiverton Road, N15
- Naiara Lizeth Hernandez-Bonilla, 20 (2.6.2004), of Birnam Road, N4
All four appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court on Thursday, 16 January 2025. Perea and Ramirez Tavarez resided at the Tiverton Road address where the stabbing occurred, while Hernandez-Bonilla lived in Finsbury Park. The group remains in custody, and their cases have been transferred to the Crown Court due to the seriousness of the charges.
17 January 2025:
A fifth suspect, Gabriel Francisco Pineda Gonzalez, 20 (17.04.2004), of High Trees, SW2, was also charged with murder. He appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court the same day.
23 January 2025:
The investigation led to the arrest and subsequent charging of a sixth individual, Benito Ramirez Kones, 19 (27.06.2005), of Fermain Court East, N1. He appeared at Willesden Magistrates Court.
All six defendants have been remanded in custody, awaiting trial. The case is set to be heard at the Old Bailey, with the trial scheduled to commence on Monday, 20 October 2025.
This murder investigation continues to unfold, and police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward to assist in delivering justice for Mr. Volquez and his grieving family.
