🔴 BUS PREDATOR JAILED: MERIDEN PARK ATTEMPTED RAPE SHAME
MERIDEN PARK HORROR: Dago Williams CAGED for 'monstrous' Solihull sex attack where he strangled a teenage girl he had met on the bus. A 22-year-old man who subjecting a teenager to a violent sexual assault in a Solihull park has been jailed for nine years and six months.
Dago Williams appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday for sentencing, having entered guilty pleas at an earlier hearing to charges of attempted rape, sexual assault, intentional strangulation, assault, and shop theft.
The court heard how on 6 June 2025, Williams initiated contact with a group of teenagers on a Birmingham bus, claimed to possess significant wealth, and gained their Snapchat contacts details.
Williams entered a supermarket to steal cans of alcohol, which he then offered to the group.
The prosecution detailed how Williams subsequently sat next to one 17-year-old girl on a bench in Meriden Park, where his initial unwanted sexual advances were met with a clear refusal. In the moments that followed, Williams’ conduct escalated into a sustained physical and sexual attack. The court was told how Williams attempted to rape the girl and, when she tried to stand up to leave, responded with physical violence by punching her in the face. Williams then placed his hands around the girl’s neck and applied pressure, an act of intentional strangulation that caused her to fall to the floor. As she fled the scene to seek help, Williams threw her handbag into nearby bushes.
The victim managed to reach a friend’s house and alert the police, providing a detailed physical description and details of his social media profile. Detectives from the Child Abuse Investigation Team used this information to secure a swift arrest.
Detective Constable Kevin Shaw stated that Williams represented a clear risk to women and girls and confirmed that the defendant is now behind bars following the "horrific" sequence of events. The judge’s sentencing took into account the gravity of the multiple offences and the aggressive nature of the escalation.
Under the Sexual Offences Act, the complainant is entitled to life-long anonymity, a statutory protection that prohibits the publication of any details likely to lead to her identification.
Williams was informed that his sentence reflects the severity of the violence used alongside the sexual offending.
Following his release from custody, he will be subject to strict notification requirements as a registered sex offender. The case concluded with the court commending the victim’s immediate actions in reporting the incident, which ensured that forensic and digital evidence was preserved to secure the conviction.
