TikTok Robbers Jailed for Torturing and Humiliating Student Party Guests

Two young men who subjected terrified partygoers to a campaign of extortion, physical abuse, and deep public humiliation before posting incriminating footage of their crimes on TikTok have been jailed for a combined total of 18 years.

Richile Vangu, 20, and Oluwatobiloba Akinrinola, 19, targeted their victims after infiltrating a student gathering in Leicestershire, brandishing a large "zombie-style" weapon, forcing hostages to perform structured social media dances, and filming subsequent torture sessions at a student accommodation block.

Following a comprehensive trial at Leicester Crown Court, the London-based pair were brought back to the dock on Monday, July 27, to face sentencing before Judge Steven Evans.

Vangu, of Bowes Road, Southgate, who boasted the online moniker "Trixta", was handed an 11-year custodial sentence alongside an additional three-year extended license period due to his assessed dangerousness. His co-defendant, Akinrinola, of Slippers Place, Southwark, was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment for his auxiliary role in the joint enterprise.

The court heard that the criminal operation began in the early hours of November 21, 2025, after an open house party at a residential property in North Kilworth was advertised publicly on Snapchat. Vangu had pre-planned a coordinated raid on the gathering and actively recruited a group of men, including Akinrinola, to travel from London to act as his muscle.

Upon entering the property, the gang aggressively cornered at least eight male guests, forcing them into a bedroom. Vangu then produced a large zombie knife, using the weapon to terrorise the trapped students while demanding they immediately strip off and hand over their high-end designer clothing and an iPhone.

Introducing himself to his victims as Trixta, a moniker Judge Evans noted was intended to mimic "a villain from the movies," Vangu demanded that each hostage electronically transfer £1,000 directly into his personal bank account. To enforce compliance, he explicitly threatened to plunge the blade into the victims' legs if they hesitated.

In a bizarre twist designed to further degrade the hostages, Vangu forced the men to perform multiple takes of a TikTok dance sequence, which was recorded on a mobile phone. While they were held captive, Vangu systematically photographed the victims' student identification cards, openly logging their home addresses to ensure they would not report the orchestrators to law enforcement.

A number of the student victims were unable to execute the immediate £1,000 financial transfers at the house party. In response, Vangu ordered them to travel to an address at a student accommodation development in Bath Lane, Leicester, later that same day to resolve the outstanding debts.

When the compliant, terrified victims arrived at the Bath Lane premises, the abuse escalated into what the court characterized as systematic torture. Akinrinola, whom the judge described as acting "subserviently" to Vangu but playing an essential role in the execution of the offenses, took control of the room by forcing several of the men to perform high-intensity physical exercises, including star jumps and high knees, while repeatedly punching them in the face and torso.

Vangu then subjected the hostages to a series of sadistic acts. He fired a BB gun directly at the victims' heads, forcibly waxed their faces, and threatened to chop off their dreadlocks if they failed to secure the extortion money.

The court heard that Vangu also unbuckled his belt and used it to repeatedly whip the men across their bodies. One of the group members was ordered to film the violent degradation, and the resulting footage was subsequently compiled and uploaded directly to Vangu’s public TikTok account.

The graphic social media uploads quickly drew the attention of Leicestershire Police investigators. Following digital trace work, tracking units arrested Vangu at an address in London on November 27, less than a week after the initial party. A series of subsequent raids between December 3 and December 15 led to the apprehension of Akinrinola and two other suspected associates.

Following a full Crown Court trial which concluded on June 19, the jury returned an extensive series of guilty verdicts. Vangu was convicted of four counts of robbery and six counts of blackmail relating to the North Kilworth house party, alongside an additional four counts of blackmail and one count of causing actual bodily harm (ABH) for the violence at Bath Lane. He had also entered a guilty plea to a separate count of actual bodily harm at an earlier administrative hearing.

Akinrinola was found guilty of four counts of robbery and six counts of blackmail at the North Kilworth event, three counts of blackmail at Bath Lane, and two counts of causing actual bodily harm.

He was acquitted of a single count of blackmail. Two co-defendants, Benjamin Osadolor, 19, of Northampton, and Ayomide Ibraheem, 19, of London, were cleared by the jury of all charges.

During the sentencing exercise, Judge Steven Evans fiercely condemned the behavior of both defendants, drawing attention to Vangu's chilling conduct throughout the trial process.

The judge noted that Vangu displayed a "complete absence of empathy" toward his victims, even laughing out loud in the dock when the graphic video evidence of the abuse was played back to the jury.

Judge Evans referenced a specialized pre-sentence evaluation compiled by the Probation Service, which formally concluded that the 20-year-old active influencer genuinely "enjoyed humiliating and targeting" his victims.

Ruling that both men posed a significant threat to the public, Judge Evans ordered them to begin their substantial custodial terms immediately, noting that while Akinrinola acted under Vangu's direction, the severe psychological and physical degradation of the victims could not have been achieved without his active and violent participation.
