Leeds Man Jailed for 20 Years After Abduction & Rape of Schoolgirl in Two-Hour Ordeal
His Honour Judge Bayliss KC ordered that Adams serve a custodial term of 15 years with an additional five-year licence period, reflecting the court's assessment of the defendant’s dangerousness under sentencing guidelines.
A 34-year-old man has been handed a 20-year extended sentence at Leeds Crown Court after being convicted of the repeated rape and sexual assault of a 13-year-old schoolgirl.
Omarie Adams, of Second Avenue, Armley, was found guilty of four counts of rape, one count of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault following a three-day trial in March.
The court heard that on 11 September 2025, Adams abducted the victim from a street in Leeds during broad daylight before driving her to multiple locations where he subjected her to a sustained ordeal lasting two hours.

Adams was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register indefinitely and made the subject of a restraining order to protect the complainant for life.
The prosecution established that the victim was wearing her school jumper at the time of the abduction, a fact Adams denied noticing during his testimony.
In a victim personal statement read to the court, the teenager detailed the profound psychological impact of the offending, stating that the incident had affected her self-worth and led to recurring thoughts of being useless.
The complainant told the court she believed Adams viewed her as "cheap tat on the road that he could do whatever he wanted with" and noted that the defendant had "taken away my dignity."
She further stated that she had supported the police investigation to ensure the defendant faced justice and to prevent him from targeting others, concluding her statement by saying: "I hope he rots in prison."
The investigation by West Yorkshire Police was aided by an "incredibly detailed and accurate" description provided by the victim, alongside enquiries into a telephone number Adams had given her following the assaults.
Detective Constable Ellie Middlemass, the officer in the case, noted that the defendant had subjected a vulnerable child to hours of "atrocious abuse" and praised the consistency of the evidence provided by the complainant.
The officer highlighted that the conviction was the result of a detailed investigation supported by the victim’s resolve throughout the legal process.

During the trial, the jury dismissed Adams’ account of the events, returning unanimous guilty verdicts on all six counts on 18 March.
The extended sentence ensures that Adams will remain under the supervision of the National Probation Service for an increased period following his eventual release from custody.
Police confirmed that specialist officers remain in contact with the victim to provide ongoing support following the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
