Breaking News: Further Teens Charged with Murder in Birmingham Park

In a chilling turn of events, two boys aged 14 and 16 have just been charged with the murder of Michael Junior Obasi, a father-of-one whose body was discovered in Perry Hall Park, Birmingham.

This means that a total of four teenagers have now been charged over the suspected murder and robbery of the 38-year-old man, alongside two men in their twenties who have also been charged.

Initially deemed non-suspicious, Mr. Obasi's death was later revealed by post mortem to have been the result of a serious assault, sparking a murder investigation by West Midlands Police.

These two additional teenagers, whose identities are protected by legal reasons, are set to appear in magistrates court for a charging hearing. This development follows charges against four other individuals, including Ion Calin, 18, Manuel Filipache, 21, and Ion Morar, 20, all accused of Mr. Obasi's murder and robbery, alongside a 15-year-old boy has also been charged in connection with the crime.

Mr. Obasi was believed to have been assaulted by multiple individuals in the park between 19:00 and 20:00 on 14th March, two days prior to his body's discovery.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are calling on the community to assist in shedding light on the events leading to Mr. Obasi's tragic demise. Police have renewed their appeal to the public for any CCTV or dashcam footage which may contain information.

In a statement, Mr. Obasi's family described him as a "wonderful, kind, and positive person" and appealed for justice in what they referred to as "cruel circumstances."
