A dramatic police shooting outside Milton Keynes railway station left a man dead after armed officers opened fire following reports of a suspect with a weapon.

A man has been shot dead by armed police outside Milton Keynes railway station after reports that he was carrying a firearm. The incident unfolded at approximately 12:55 PM on April 1, 2025, when officers from Thames Valley Police (TVP) and British Transport Police (BTP) responded to an emergency call reporting a male suspect in possession of a weapon at the station.

Armed officers were deployed to the scene, where they confronted the suspect and issued verbal commands instructing him to disarm. Witnesses described the man as failing to comply with police orders before advancing towards the officers.
A short time later, gunshots were heard, and the suspect collapsed onto the pavement in full public view. Bystanders reported seeing a gunshot wound to his stomach as armed officers immediately initiated CPR in an attempt to save his life.

Emergency services arrived swiftly, with two ambulances deployed to the scene. Despite prolonged efforts by paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at 1:44 PM.
Footage captured by witnesses shows the aftermath of the shooting, with officers administering medical aid while a crowd gathered nearby. One witness, who had been at a bus stop adjacent to the scene, described how CPR was conducted for an extended period, but there were no visible signs of response from the man. Others reported hearing a single gunshot before observing police attempting to revive the suspect.
