Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, who was last week convicted of assaulting three people at Manchester Airport, will remain behind bars after his bail hearing was postponed.
Amaaz, from Rochdale, was due before Liverpool Crown Court today for a bail application, but the hearing has been adjourned until August 26. He was convicted of assaulting a male passenger and two female police officers, including breaking PC Lydia Ward’s nose, during a confrontation in Terminal 2 and the adjacent car park.
Amaaz’s co-defendant and brother, Muhammad Amaad, 25, was released on unconditional bail. Both men will face a retrial next year on an unresolved charge that they assaulted PC Zachary Marsden, with the case scheduled to begin on April 7, 2026 and expected to last three to four weeks.
