🔴 AIRBNB RAID DUO JAILED FOR VIOLENT ROBBERY & SEX ATTACKS
Two Airbnb raids, two counties, one night of violent robbery & weapon-led sex attacks as Finch & Munir’s fast-moving crime spree ends in long prison terms. Two men who carried out a rapid series of violent robberies and sexual offences across Milton Keynes and Northampton have been jailed for a combined 19 years, concluding a Thames Valley Police investigation that traced their movements and actions across two counties within hours of each other. Both defendants were returned to Reading Crown Court for sentence after a jury convicted them unanimously on multiple counts arising from two linked incidents in January 2025.
Shahime Finch, 26, of Linden Road, Reading, was convicted of three counts of robbery. Muhammad Munir, also 26 and of the same address, was convicted of one count of intentional strangulation, three counts of robbery and four counts of sexual assault on a female. He was acquitted of a second strangulation charge. Munir received 11 years’ imprisonment, while Finch was sentenced to eight, reflecting what the court heard about their respective roles, the level of planning, and the escalation in violence between the first and second incidents.
On 18 January 2025, the pair travelled from Reading to an Airbnb on Milburn Avenue, Milton Keynes, where two women in their thirties were staying. The men forced their way inside and demanded cash. Finch displayed a screwdriver while Munir dragged one of the women by her hair into a bedroom. As Finch searched the property, Munir located a knife and threatened the victim, prompting the women to hand over around £160. The defendants left within minutes and moved directly on to Northampton.
At a second Airbnb address in Northampton, occupied by two women in their twenties, the pattern intensified. Munir grabbed and strangled the woman who answered the door, pulling her down the stairs by her hair while demanding money. Both victims were taken to a bedroom and stripped. Munir then sexually assaulted them with weapons while Finch searched the property uninterrupted. Approximately £1,500 and two iPhones were taken. The victims escaped by running into the street wrapped in bedsheets, a moment that police later described as critical in enabling the investigation to accelerate quickly.
Munir was arrested on 19 January, then re-arrested on 12 February and charged the following day. Finch was arrested on 7 February and charged on 8 February. Detectives secured CCTV, forensic material and digital evidence linking both men to each scene, describing the inquiry as meticulous due to the mobility of the suspects.
Detective Constable Samantha Le Jeune said the victims had shown significant courage throughout the case and urged anyone affected by similar offending to contact police, who will provide support and pursue offenders robustly.
