SEX PREDATOR, 24, JAILED FOR 7 YEARS OVER CHILD GROOMING

Predatory Wolverhampton man who groomed ‘12-year-old girls’ online for sex caught by undercover cops – sentenced to 7+ yrs with lifetime sex offenders registration.

A 24-year-old man from Wolverhampton has been jailed for seven years and two months after admitting arranging to have sex with what he believed to be a 12-year-old girl.

Aaron Kainth, of Rooker Crescent, Wolverhampton, appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 9 March where he pleaded guilty to the offence contrary to section 14 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

He also admitted one count of attempting to cause a female child aged under 13 to engage in sexual activity, one count of attempting to cause a child under 13 to look at an image of sexual activity, and two counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.

The offences related to online communications in April last year, during which Kainth believed he was speaking to girls aged 12 and made arrangements intended to lead to sexual activity with them.

The individuals he messaged were undercover officers from West Midlands Police, assisted by the West Midlands Regional Organised Crime Unit.

Kainth was arrested following the covert operation and subsequently charged.

The court further ordered that he be placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Detective Inspector Chris Brown, from the Major Crime Team, said: “Kainth displayed predatory behaviour. He wanted to meet up and have sex with a child of 12 and thought the person he was talking to online was of that age. Instead he was talking to one of our undercover officers.

“We are pleased that we were able to stop Kainth from attempting to talk to children online and now he is behind bars is no longer a threat to young girls.”
