A 22-year-old Birmingham man has been sentenced to 22 months in prison after covertly filming 465 individuals using public toilets across Birmingham and Solihull.
Troy Green, of Vicarage Road, Soho, appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on 15 April for sentencing after pleading guilty to a series of sexual offences.
The defendant admitted to counts of voyeurism and making indecent images of a child following an extensive investigation by West Midlands Police.
Green was arrested in August last year after police received a report concerning a person filming individuals in public conveniences.
Forensic examination of electronic devices seized from the defendant’s home address uncovered 528 video clips and images recorded without the knowledge of the subjects.

Investigators identified 465 distinct victims within the footage, which included recordings of two children.
During police interviews, Green initially denied the allegations and claimed his frequent presence in public toilets was due to a vaping addiction he concealed from his family.
He further asserted that some of the recovered devices did not belong to him, despite his own presence being visible in a number of the recordings.
The court heard that the defendant only accepted responsibility for the offences after being presented with the mounting weight of digital evidence.

In addition to the custodial sentence, the court ordered that Green be placed on the sex offenders register for a period of 10 years.
A sexual harm prevention order was also imposed for 10 years to restrict the defendant’s conduct following his release from the custodial estate.
Detective Constable Stephen Dunford, of the West Midlands Police Public Protection Unit, stated that Green continued to deny the offences across numerous interviews despite overwhelming evidence.
Police emphasized that such offences are treated with extreme gravity and encouraged the public to report suspicious behaviour in public facilities.
