A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a woman in Enfield on Saturday evening. The victim, formally identified by police as 45-year-old Pamela Munro, was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to a residential address in Ayley Croft shortly after 7pm.

officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics following reports of a stabbing. Despite immediate medical intervention, Ms Munro was found to have sustained a single fatal stab wound and could not be saved.
An intensive investigation led by officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command commenced that evening. On Monday, a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. No charges have yet been announced.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the investigation, confirmed that officers had worked “relentlessly across the weekend” to piece together the circumstances surrounding Ms Munro’s death. Enquiries are ongoing, and specialist officers continue to support the victim’s family.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage who were in the area of Ayley Croft between 18:30 and 19:30 on Saturday 19 April to come forward. Police have issued the reference 5741/19APRIL for any relevant information and have asked the public to contact 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously.
