🔴 Christmas Day Murder: Police Hunt Tiego & Richard Beckles
Police name two brothers as suspects in a deadly early-hours stabbing, launching an urgent manhunt as detectives appeal for crucial public information. Police have renewed their appeal for information as detectives continue efforts to trace two brothers wanted over the Christmas Day murder of Trey Johnson in Wolverhampton.
The 30-year-old was found with serious stab injuries in Burcot Avenue shortly after 3.30am on 25 December and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
West Midlands Police confirmed that Tiego Beckles, 20, and Richard Beckles, 19, are now being formally named as suspects in the homicide investigation, following what officers described as a number of unsuccessful attempts to locate them.
Investigators say the decision to release their identities reflects the scale and urgency of the inquiry as officers work to establish the circumstances leading up to the fatal incident.
Detectives have spoken to witnesses and recovered CCTV footage as part of what police described as a detailed reconstruction of events during the early hours of Christmas morning.
The force is urging members of the public to assist in locating the pair, warning that anyone knowingly helping them evade arrest could face criminal consequences.
Detective Inspector Michelle Cordell, from the force’s Homicide Unit, said: “Tiego and Richard Beckles will know that they are wanted, and I’d urge them to do the right thing and hand themselves in to police, before we find them.”
She added: “If anyone is helping them evade arrest, they should know that they will also face arrest. If you know where they are or have information that could help us find them, no matter how insignificant you think it might be, I’d urge you to get in touch with us now.”
Police confirmed that all information will be treated in the strictest confidence, with enquiries continuing at pace as officers follow multiple investigative lines.
Mr Johnson’s family have since issued a statement describing him as a devoted father of two and a family man, while detectives reiterated that their focus remains on identifying those responsible and bringing them into custody.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via Live Chat, quoting log 481 of 25 December, as the murder investigation remains ongoing.
