Asecond suspecthas been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of16-year-old Lathaniel Burrell, who was gunned down in broad daylight nearStockwell Tube stationlast Tuesday.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a17-year-old malewas detained on suspicion ofmurderon Sunday, March 9. He remains inpolice custodyas homicide detectives intensify their investigation into the brutal daylight killing.
Meanwhile,Omar Prempeh, 32, ofStanstead Road, Forest Hill, has already beencharged with murderand is due to appear atthe Old Baileytomorrow, Wednesday, March 12, to face the first stage of legal proceedings.
In a further development, a40-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion ofassisting an offenderandpossession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, has beenreleased on bailas inquiries continue.
The Fatal Shooting That Shocked Stockwell
The violent attack unfolded onTuesday, March 4, when police were called at3:21 PMto reports of ashootinginParadise Road, SW4—a stone’s throw from Stockwell’s busy Underground station.
Despite the rapid response ofLondon Ambulance Service paramedicsandLondon’s Air Ambulance,Lathaniel Burrell succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
