Second Teen Charged in Muhammad Hassam Ali Murder

A 16-year-old boy has become the second teen to be been charged with the murder of 17-year-old Muhammad Hassam Ali in Birmingham city center.

The suspect, arrested in January, was charged yesterday after being on police bail. He is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

Hassam Ali was fatally stabbed in Victoria Square on January 20th in what is thought to have been a sickening case of mistaken identity.

A 15-year-old boy was previously charged with murder in connection to the case and remains in custody awaiting trial.
