Rasheed Abdul Rahman, of Dunmow Close, Chadwell Heath, was found guilty by a jury at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 27 May, of the murder of 55-year-old Mark Carroll.
The teenager was additionally convicted of three further counts: possessing an article with a blade or point, threatening another with an offensive weapon, and robbery.
The court heard that the fatal attack occurred in St Martin's Gardens, Camden, on 10 April 2024.
Emergency services, including the London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police officers, were called to the location following reports of an unresponsive male.

Mr Carroll, who was local to Camden, was discovered at the scene suffering from a single stab wound.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he subsequently died despite the extensive efforts of medical personnel and emergency responders.
The prosecution established that the attack was entirely unprovoked and that the defendant and the victim were not previously known to each other.
Jurors were told that Rahman approached the victim in the gardens and inflicted the fatal injury before immediately fleeing the scene.

The defendant was located in the nearby area and arrested by responding officers a short time later.
During the trial, the Crown presented a comprehensive body of evidence gathered by Metropolitan Police detectives, which included CCTV footage, forensic analysis, and crucial testimony from members of the public who witnessed the incident.
Following the guilty verdicts, Detective Chief Inspector Phil Clarke, who led the investigation, stated that Mr Carroll lost his life in tragic circumstances and thanked the public for providing the vital evidence that secured the conviction.
The victim's daughters, Ayisha and Danielle, issued a formal statement expressing their relief that justice had been delivered, adding that the verdicts provided some closure following their father's horrific death.
Rahman has been remanded into custody and will return to Wood Green Crown Court to be sentenced on a date to be confirmed.
