Three Teenage Girls Charged with Manslaughter of 75-Year-Old Man in Holloway Attack

A75-year-old man died after being surrounded, pushed, kicked, and punched by a group of teenage girlsin a late-night attack outside a bank in Holloway, a court has heard. The three suspects, aged14, 16, and 17, appeared at Highbury Corner Youth Court on Monday, where they were charged with his manslaughter.
The victim, named asFredi Rivero, believed to be of Bolivian decent, was near a bus stop onSeven Sisters Road at around 11:35 p.m. on Thursdaywhen the teenagers allegedly approached him after getting off a bus.

They initially walked away, but moments later returned, at which point he was confronted and assaulted.The court heard that one of the accused filmed the attack on her mobile phoneas the pensioner wasshoved, kicked, and punched before he fell to the ground.
Police arrived to findRivero injured on the pavement, where they provided first aid until paramedics from the London Ambulance Service took over.He was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day.What was initially being treated as a case of grievous bodily harm was subsequently escalated to manslaughter.
Following the attack, officers established alarge police cordon outside a Nationwide bank near the junction with Holloway Road.Images from the scene showedbloodstains on the pavement alongside a supermarket trolley and several shopping bags.A separate cordon was later set up near Moonlight Supermarket, suggesting investigators were examining multiple locations connected to the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, leading the investigation for the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command, confirmed that forensic examinations and CCTV analysis were being carried out as part of the inquiry. Officers have already spoken to witnesses but continue to appeal for further information.
