No Go Birmingham? A Journey Inside "No Whites Allowed" Alum Rock To Discover The Truth About Asylum Seekers, Communities & Racial Tensions

Police are investigating after the racist graffiti slogans "no whites" and "no whites allowed" appeared in Alum Rock, Birmingham, painted with white spray can on walls on Langton Road and Farndon Road.

There has been a significant police response near the three locations where messages were sprayed, with police patrols.

CCTV footage appearing to show a perpetrator in the act are being studied by investigators.

This follows a similar incidence in August 2017, where the message "no whites after 8.30" was left on Farnden Road. While nothing is yet confirmed as to the identity or motivation of the vandal, this anti-white racist message inevitably reignites questions about the situation in Alum Rock, and Birmingham's other majority Asian communities.

Alum Rock A Complex Community

While the claim that every Asian-majority area of Birmingham, such as Small Heath, Sparkbrook or Sparkhill are 'no-go zones' for Whites is generally laughed by the White people living there, some since the 60's, Alum Rock, in the evening, is often considered a much less welcoming place.

It is a deprived area with few White residents and a large number of people recently granted asylum in the UK.

Some current residents describe it as a relaxed, casual place where long-established residents and those new to the UK can mix and get along freely.

Local shopkeeper Mr. Khan however has little good to say about the area. The challenges of running a shop during lockdown forced him to move from the more suburban, predominantly Asian area of Sparkbrook to cheaper Alum Rock. He can express little pride in the area and says that to him, Alum Rock doesn't even feel like a part of Britain.

Crime is a concern, and the area suffers considerable problems with bin collections due to Birmingham's bankrupt council.

The area is home to a significant number of people who have been granted political asylum in the UK.

After asylum seekers' applications are processed, those who receive a positive outcome are frequently given very little time to find their own accommodation, as they are moved on from the hotels or other temporary hotel accommodation where they have been living.

While some may be drawn an area which already houses people with similar backgrounds and experiences as then, it is likely that the difficulty of finding accommodation in a more desirable area plays a significant role.

The plan to spread asylum seekers and recent migrants access the country is likely to bring more focus to the issues of integration, which clearly remain a challenge in so many areas of the UK.

The Truth About Anti White Racism in Birmingham and the UK

In the mainstream, professional media, anti-White hate receives little attention.

Online, among biased, sensationalist news sources, a frightening image is conveyed which promotes great concern.

The truth behind these wild claims is that any sort of armed Muslim groups have as much chance of seizing power in the UK as so-called far Right thugs: absolutely zero.

Any changes, good or bad, that Muslims bring to the British cultural landscape would not be caused - or stopped - by violent uprisings.

Yet the Bordesley Green disorder revealed that some Muslim groups were willing to come out, cause trouble and engage in violent or threatening behaviour - ostensibly to protect their mosque - but these were a minority and police investigations have lead to criminal charges for alleged crimes committed both online and on the streets.

While this is concerning, individuals interested in threats and violence appear to be having no real effect on the lives of those in many Asian-majority inner city areas. White residents often describe feeling comfortable going out each evening, past the Asian speciality shops to the one remaining traditional pub for a pint and a game of pool.

Even the assistant manager of the pub targeted during the Bordesley Green disorder rubbished claims that any of her regulars would be afraid of returning, seeing the violence as a complete one off.

THREATS AGAINST WHITE PEOPLE TAKEN SERIOUSLY

These graffiti messages are not the first incidents of racially charged threats to capture police attention. Recently, rapper Omar Abdirizak, known as ‘Twista Cheese,’ was charged with threatening Tommy Robinson in an online video and is now awaiting trial.

The growing trend of turning away from traditional news outlets, often criticized for avoiding controversial topics, in favor of alternative media that lacks context and balance, has had serious repercussions. Individuals with legitimate concerns about immigration have, in some cases, been drawn into extremism, leading to their involvement in criminal activities. These actions range from violating long-established British laws against Violent Disorder and Inciting Riots to more recent offences like inciting hatred.

As we continue to navigate the complex media landscape, the line between informed discourse and dangerous rhetoric has never been more critical to uphold.
