Hi and welcome to this JK NEWS B'HAM Crime Report for VPN: REGIONAL NETWORKS:
Two members of a Midlands crime family have been jailed for over 40 years for a plot to kill a local drugs baron over a family feud, enlisting a middle-aged childcare graduate from Wisconsin as the gun-woman.
Target Sikander Ali escaped with his life when the hit-woman botched her mission, although the investigation which brought to justice those behind the shooting had a downside for Ali, as it uncovered his involvement in the as a kilogram supplier of cocaine. He is now serving a 13 years 6 month prison sentence for drug trafficking offences.
Father Mohammed Aslam and son Mohammed Nazir of Derby set out for revenge after a violent clash in a fashion store business belonging to Aslat Mahumad, father of drug baron Sikander Ali, left them with serious head injuries in July 2018. The targeting of Aslam and Nazir continued as their home was attacked and windows smashed.

A revenge plot was hatched, enlisting music enthusiast and suspected fraudster Aimee Betro, who combined her assassination mission with a partying and sightseeing tour of the UK.
She seems to have had some relationship with 31 year old Nazir and was later to collaborate with him on another failed crime plot. Also, while in Derby she attempted a likely insurance scam, crashing her hire car into Aslam’s own car.
On the 7th September 2019, driving a large Mercedes and disguised in a hijab, she tried to lure Aslat Mahumud to a meeting on the pretext of selling him a second-hand car, but when Sikander Ali returned from the mosque to the Measham Grove address where she was stationed, she approached him, pointing a gun at his head.
The gun jammed, allowing Ali to make a desperate escape in his Audi Q5. Betro did not give up and issued a stern command for Ali to return and present himself so she could complete her mission: “where are you?” “Stop playing hide and seek you are lucky it jammed”.

She later fired shots at his house, sending further terrifying messages: “you want to rip me off, you want to be a drugs kingpin go look at your house. I will show you. Watch your back. I will be shedding blood soon” to which Ali. Responded ‘what are you talking about? I am a family man I have never sold drugs in my life’.
Ali himself was arrested in January last year while attempting to flee to Dubai. Betro was recently arrested in Yerevan, Armenia, and is due to be extradited to the UK to stand trial in the West Midlands.
The violent saga concluded with heavy prison sentences for the father-son duo, Mohammed Aslam and Mohammed Nazir, who each received lengthy terms for their roles in organizing the assassination attempt and framing scheme. Nazir, serving 32 years, which includes additional charges related to framing a former crime partner, while Aslam received a 10-year sentence. Both men must serve two-thirds of their sentences before being eligible for parole.
The judge highlighted the “sophisticated” planning behind the attempt, noting it involved efforts to evade detection with burner phones, encrypted messages, and fake identities. Despite these elaborate precautions, Nazir’s and Aslam’s long trail of criminal associations was eventually uncovered, leading to their convictions.
Well, that’s all for now. But until our next article, please stay tuned, stay informed, but most of all stay safe, and I’ll see you then.
