A motorist who turned a fast-food queue dispute into a prolonged road rage pursuit has been jailed following his sentencing at Nottingham Crown Court.
A furious drive-thru clash spiralled into a terrifying car chase as Ravell Blair hunted down another motorist across Bulwell before police finally caught him.
The incident began on 11 December 2022 when Ravell Blair, 25, blocked a McDonald’s drive-thru in Bulwell for around 15 minutes while complaining to staff. As vehicles built up behind his stationary car, another driver approached and asked him to move into a nearby bay to allow the queue to progress.
Blair did shift his vehicle but then lay in wait for the man who had spoken to him, following him as he left the car park. Over the next ten minutes Blair pursued the victim’s van across Bulwell from Leen Drive, repeatedly revving his engine and gesturing aggressively through the window.

At one stage he overtook and braked sharply in front of the van in what prosecutors said was an attempt to cause a collision. The victim’s passengers, alarmed by the escalating behaviour, were on the phone to Nottinghamshire Police and were advised to head directly to Bulwell Police Station.
On arrival, Blair tried to flee the scene but was intercepted a short distance away in Goverton Square, where officers detained him. He was later charged with dangerous driving.
Appearing before Judge at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday 23 September, Blair, of Goverton Square, Nottingham, pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to 50 weeks in custody and disqualified from driving for 12 months.
PC Charlotte Brooks of Nottinghamshire Police said Blair’s conduct posed a serious threat to road users. “This bout of road rage demonstrated by Blair was completely unacceptable and put everyone else on the roads in danger. Thankfully for the offender, nobody was hurt as a result of his driving decisions that day. This was understandably a distressing incident for the victims, who were simply trying to diffuse a tense situation. We’re pleased to see Blair finally sentenced for his actions.”
