LONDON, STAMFORD HILL — June 5, 2026 — The sentencing of two men who admitted to targeting and verbally abusing a member of the Jewish community for a social media video has been delayed.
Adam Bedoui (born 24/05/2005), 20, and Abdelkader Amir Bousloub (born 26/02/2005), 21, were due to be sentenced today following their swift convictions last month.
However, proceedings at Thames Crown Court have been adjourned. The case is now scheduled to resume at the same court on the morning of July 4 at 09:30.
The hearing was adjourned today due to a combination of procedural requirements and scheduling conflicts. The court is awaiting the completion of Pre-Sentence Reports (PSRs) for the defendants.

Furthermore, the defence solicitor was unavailable for the hearing as they were concurrently in a different courtroom defending a client in another matter.
Because the law requires legal representatives for both parties to be present at the same time for sentencing, another judge had to step in to formally adjourn the proceedings.
The two defendants, both residents of West Drayton in Hillingdon, west London, previously pleaded guilty to racially and religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm, and distress.
The charges follow a targeted incident in Hackney that sparked widespread community outrage and prompted decisive intervention from the Metropolitan Police.

A small group of three or four friends of the two defendants arrived at the courthouse to observe the day's proceedings.
Also present at the court were two police officers, who were presumably in attendance to provide testimony or present evidence relevant to the sentencing.
The court case stems from an incident on the evening of Thursday, May 7, 2026. According to police reports, Bedoui and Bousloub intentionally travelled across London to the Clapton Common and Stamford Hill area—home to one of Europe's largest Orthodox Jewish communities.
Once there, the pair approached a Jewish man, subjected him to a barrage of verbal abuse, and filmed the hostile encounter with the explicit intent of uploading the footage to the social media platform TikTok.

Members of the public alerted the police to the ongoing harassment at approximately 21:00. Upon the arrival of Metropolitan Police officers, Bedoui and Bousloub attempted to flee the scene on foot but were quickly chased down and detained.
Within 48 hours of their arrest, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) fast-tracked the charges, and both defendants entered guilty pleas during their initial appearance at Thames Magistrates' Court on May 9.
Adjournments during the sentencing phase are common in the UK judicial system when a court requires comprehensive background reports from the Probation Service to assess appropriate sentencing options, or when scheduling conflicts arise among legal counsel.
The delay means the local community must wait another month for judicial resolution. Following the convictions last month.
Detective Superintendent Oliver Richter, lead officer for policing in Hackney and Tower Hamlets, condemned the actions of the pair, stating that it was a deliberate and targeted antisemitic attack aggravated by the intention to post the footage on social media to spread hatred.
The incident occurred against a backdrop of heightened anxiety for London's Jewish communities, following a sharp rise in antisemitic hate crimes across the capital.
The strict reporting restrictions governing active UK criminal proceedings remain firmly in place. Bedoui and Bousloub have been remanded until they return to face the judiciary on July 4.
