Faisal Razzaq: PC Sharon Beshenivsky Killer Handed Second Life Sentence Over Gun Conspiracy
Faisal Razzaq, 45, previously jailed over the killing of PC Sharon Beshenivsky, receives a second life sentence at the Old Bailey for running a London gun supply conspiracy.
A man who previously served a prison sentence for his role in the killing of PC Sharon Beshenivsky has been handed a second life sentence for running a covert conspiracy that supplied firearms to criminal gangs across London.
Faisal Razzaq, 45, formerly of Edgware, north London, was sentenced at the Old Bailey on Thursday 22 October 2026 by Judge Hannah Kinch to life imprisonment with a minimum term of eight years.
Razzaq was previously convicted of manslaughter in 2006 and sentenced to life with a minimum of 11 years following the fatal shooting of PC Beshenivsky during a botched robbery in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in November 2005.
After being released on parole in 2017, Razzaq operated a luxury car hire business in north London, which he used as a front to obtain prohibited firearms and transfer them to criminal customers.
Razzaq previously entered guilty pleas to conspiracy to sell or transfer prohibited firearms, possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life, and two counts of possessing a firearm and ammunition while prohibited for life.
Sentencing Razzaq, Judge Kinch stated that the gravity of gun crime could not be overstated, describing firearms as a modern plague on the streets that are used by criminals to terrorise, kill, maim, and devastate lives.
Five co-defendants were also jailed on Thursday for their roles in the illicit firearms distribution ring. Robert Dorey, 45, was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment; Ricky Dorey, 44, received a 10-year sentence; Patrick Loughnane, 59, was jailed for eight years and six months; Abdul Rahman Saleh, 32, was handed seven years and six months; and Tammy Rigg, 40, was sentenced to five years and three months.
