Asylum Seekers’ Beach Rape Terror: Trio ‘Dragged Woman, 33, to Sand for Vile Assault’ – Faces Exposed
Amid rejected asylum bids, small-boat migrants hit with rape charges after allegedly dragging a woman to Brighton’s sands at dawn – raw court details emerge.
Three migrants, including two Egyptians and an Iranian national, have been charged with the rape of a 33-year-old woman on Brighton beach in a case that unfolded following their arrival in the UK via small boats.
Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 35, both Egyptian, alongside Abdulla Ahmadi, 25, from Iran, face multiple counts of rape after the alleged attack at 5am on 5 October on the lower esplanade in the East Sussex seaside town.
The woman, who had been at a nightclub in the city prior to the incident, reported being dragged onto the beach and subjected to the assault, prompting an immediate police response and subsequent arrests.
Charged on Thursday, the trio were remanded in custody, with Al-Danasurt and Alshafe each facing two counts of rape, while residing at the same taxpayer-funded asylum seeker hotel in West Sussex.
Ahmadi, described as a failed asylum seeker, also faces two counts of rape relating to the same victim.
All three men confirmed their arrival in the UK on small boats, as verified by the Home Office.
Appearing at Crawley Magistrates’ Court, Al-Danasurt and Alshafe provided their names and dates of birth through an Arabic interpreter.
The court heard that Al-Danasurt is under investigation for suspected immigration offences.
Prosecutors revealed the alleged rape occurred the day after Alshafe’s asylum claim was rejected.
Melanie Wootton, prosecuting, described the incident as a “stranger rape on Brighton Beach by this accused with two others, dragging a female to Brighton Beach and subjecting a female to a pretty terrifying ordeal.”
Separately, Ahmadi appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court, confirming his details via a Kurdish interpreter.
All three defendants were remanded to appear at Lewes Crown Court next month.
A Home Office spokesperson stated: “These allegations are shocking and we share the public’s outrage. Our thoughts are with the victim of this horrific crime.
“We are receiving regular updates from Sussex Police. The priority must now be for the police to investigate so those responsible are brought to justice.”
The 33-year-old victim continues to receive support from specialist officers amid the ongoing investigation.
Detective Superintendent Andy Harbour commented: “This has been a fast-paced investigation with all three suspects having been identified through thorough investigative work.
“I commend the bravery of the victim who we continue to support with specialist officers.
“Three men have been remanded in custody, and we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
“If you have any information that could assist the investigation, please contact police online or via 101, quoting Operation Brampton.”
