A man who broke into his former partner’s home and fatally stabbed her has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Hussain Haron, 24 - (Born 18.05.1999), of London Road, Mitcham, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court today, to life in prison with a minimum term of 22 years for the murder of 29-year-old Felecia Cadore.
The court previously heard that on June 9, 2023, Haron entered Ms. Cadore’s home on Grenaby Avenue, Croydon, by climbing through a window. An altercation ensued, during which Haron armed himself with a knife and stabbed her multiple times. Emergency services were called to the scene, and Ms. Cadore was transported to hospital in critical condition. Despite medical intervention, she died of her injuries on June 14, 2023.
Haron was arrested later that same day and found to be in possession of the knife used in the attack. During his trial, he claimed to have acted in self-defence, but this was rejected by the jury, which found him guilty of murder on Wednesday, January 29, following a six-day trial.
Sentencing Haron, the judge described his actions as a violent and premeditated attack on a defenceless victim. The mandatory life sentence was imposed, with a minimum term of 22 years before he will be eligible for parole.
Detective Chief Inspector Craig Magee of the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command said:
“The sentence handed down today reflects the severity of this crime. The successful conviction was the result of a meticulous investigation, and I would like to commend the officers involved for their commitment to securing justice.”
