🔴 Jazz Reid Jailed: 38 Years for 'Deliveroo' Birthday Shooting
A ruthless gunman who disguised himself as a delivery rider to carry out a series of "wicked" assassinations—including the shooting of an eight-year-old girl on her birthday—has been jailed for 38 years.
Jazz Reid, 33, of Iffley Close, Uxbridge, was sentenced at the Old Bailey today, Thursday, 15 January 2026, following what detectives described as a "truly shocking" series of planned crimes. Reid used a modified e-bike and a green Deliveroo rucksack to move through the streets of Ladbroke Grove unnoticed before opening fire on his targets.
The "Delivery" Assassinations
The court heard that Reid carried out three separate shooting incidents between October and November 2024, showing a "relentless" determination to kill.
- 9 October: Reid drove a hire car to Ladbroke Grove, switched to a converted e-bike, and shot a 27-year-old man in the thigh at his communal front door.
- 11 November: Disguised again as a delivery rider, he fired four shots at an address associated with a 34-year-old man in Notting Dale.
- 24 November: In his final and most devastating attack, Reid tracked the same 34-year-old man to a car on Southern Row. He fired multiple shots, hitting the man five times. Two of the bullets struck an eight-year-old girl sitting in the passenger seat as she celebrated her birthday.
While both victims survived, the man suffered life-changing injuries and is now unable to walk. The young girl has been left with "daily trauma," with her mother describing her as a "shadow of her former self."
The Investigation: A Forensic Trail
Metropolitan Police detectives utilised hundreds of hours of CCTV and car number plate recognition (ANPR) data to track Reid's movements across London. The "smoking gun" was discovered on 26 November 2024, when officers found a loaded pistol hidden under a concrete paving slab in Reid's garden.
DNA evidence recovered from the weapon and from fired bullet casings at the scene of the second shooting conclusively linked Reid to the crimes.
Met Crackdown on Gun Crime
The sentencing comes amidst a broader Metropolitan Police surge against serious violence. Superintendent Owen Renowden noted that lethal barrel discharges across the capital have fallen by 33 per cent, dropping from 157 in 2024 to 120 in 2025.
Sentencing :
At the Old Bailey, Reid was convicted of attempted murder, two counts of wounding with intent, and six counts related to the possession of firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.
In handing down the term, the court noted the extreme lengths Reid took to evade detection, including changing vehicles and disposing of SIM cards. The final sentence was as follows:
• 38 years' imprisonment for the attempted murder and associated firearms offences.
Detective Inspector Richard Scott, who led the investigation, stated: "He intended to kill his targets but also ended up seriously injuring an innocent young girl who must now live with the trauma caused by Reid’s wicked actions."
