🔴 DRILL RAPPER ON THE RUN: GANGSTER TAUNTS COPS AFTER SECOND HOSPITAL ESCAPE
A "dangerous" HMP Feltham inmate and drill rapper has sparked a nationwide manhunt after escaping lawful custody for the second time in just one week.
Daniel Boakye, 21, who performs under the stage name Dsavv, fled from officers at Lewisham Hospital at approximately 3:05 pm on Sunday, 15 February, while receiving medical treatment.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers gave chase but were unable to detain the 21-year-old before he exited the building and disappeared into south-east London.
Boakye had only been back in custody for four days, having previously escaped prison guards at West Middlesex University Hospital on 10 February before being tracked down to an address in Thamesmead.
Since his latest disappearance, a video has emerged on social media appearing to show the hooded convict taunting the authorities by freestyle rapping in front of a news report about his own escape.
The footage includes lyrics bragging about being "fresh home" and breaking out of jail "like Modie," a reference to a violent character from the Netflix crime drama Top Boy.
Boakye was jailed in July 2023 for six years and five months for his role in a prolific robbery gang that used knives to terrorize victims and siphon off £115,000 in cryptocurrency.
The gang, linked to the Broadwater Farm-based OFB (Original Farm Boys) collective, was famously caught after detectives traced takeaway orders they had made using stolen bank details.
Government sources indicate that Boakye remains a priority for deportation to Ghana, a process that was reportedly just months away from completion before these successive security blunders.
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been notified of the incident as investigators review how a high-risk offender was able to "give the slip" to multiple escorts twice in six days.
Four individuals previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender during Boakye's first escape remain on bail while the search for the fugitive continues.
The Home Office has reiterated that all foreign national offenders are referred for deportation at the earliest opportunity and that "broken appeals systems" are being overhauled to prevent such exploitation.
Police have described Boakye as black, of medium height and slim build, last seen wearing a dark Nike jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms.
The public has been warned not to approach the "violent" offender but to dial 999 immediately if he is sighted or if his current location is known.
This latest escape follows a string of high-profile "release in error" blunders that have plagued the Ministry of Justice over the last 12 months.
The search for Boakye remains active and "at pace" across the capital as specialized units attempt to close the net on the boasting drill artist for a third time.
