🔴 Birmingham Drive-By Killer Shot Teen Before Fleeing UK
Seeraj Ayub tracked teen Ali Riyan on e-bike before shooting in Birmingham drive-by, fleeing UK for months before arrest & murder conviction secured.
Seeraj Ayub has been convicted of murdering 19-year-old Ali Riyan in a drive-by shooting in Birmingham, after fleeing the country for three months following the attack
The jury at Birmingham Crown Court found Ayub guilty after a two-week trial during which prosecutors detailed the events of October 19 last year on Alderson Road, Washwood Heath
Ali Riyan had been riding on the back of an e-bike with a friend when a black Mercedes followed them, stopping beside the pair before shots were fired from the rear passenger window
The teen was struck in a second shot after attempting to ride away and was later discovered by a member of the public who immediately called emergency services and attempted CPR
Paramedics attended and transported Ali to hospital, where he died two days later from his injuries
West Midlands Police launched an immediate investigation, initially treating the incident as a shooting before it escalated to a murder inquiry following Ali’s death
Extensive CCTV footage was reviewed, showing Ayub driving the vehicle involved and following the victims prior to the fatal shots
Eyewitness testimony and forensic evidence were central to the prosecution case, establishing Ayub’s presence and actions during the incident
Later on the evening of the attack, Ayub left the UK and remained abroad for three months before returning via ferry from Dublin, whereupon he was arrested upon arrival
During interview, Ayub declined to provide any comment regarding the incident, and subsequently he was charged with murder
In court, Ayub initially pleaded not guilty, maintaining his denial throughout the trial
Senior Investigating Officer Jenny Birch stated that the case had required exhaustive review of multiple lines of evidence and confirmed that justice had been secured for Ali’s family
Ayub will be sentenced later this year, with details of his forthcoming punishment expected to be delivered at Birmingham Crown Court.
